Microcrystalline Cellulose

CelluCrest (Microcrystalline Cellulose)

Microcrystalline Cellulose (MCC) is one of the most important and widely-used excipient. It functions as a diluent in formulations and an important component for oral dosage. MCC produced by Crest renders improved production feasibility for direct compression and wet granulation processes, as well as for capsule formulations. MCC produced by Crest has high Compactability.

cellulose makes the ideal excipient. A naturally occurring polymer, it is composed of glucose units connected by a 1-4 beta glycosidic bond. These linear cellulose chains are bundled together as microfibril spiralled together in the walls of plant cell. Each microfibril exhibits a high degree of three-dimensional internal bonding resulting in a crystalline structure that is insoluble in water and resistant to reagents

  • Excellent binding properties.
  • Rapid disintegration properties.
  • Porous Structure gives it a superior flow.

Applications of the Product

  • Used in pharmaceutical formulations as binder cum disintegrant
  • Used in cosmetics and food products.
